Romanian women most trafficked in Southeast Europe! [press]

According to a recent report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Romania has got something serious to worry about: Romanian women are most trafficked, so the country is top of the Southeaste Europe states as far as the number of human trafficking victims is concerned. The report is based on an analyses of the states of things in 10 states in the region. In Romania there were identified 2,285 victims only in 2006, almost ten times more than in all the other countries taken together. 64% of these victims were trafficked for sexual exploitation and 56% are women aged between 14 and 25.
